I want to personally thank Bumbershoot for allowing Interracial Friends the honor and privilege of covering all 3 days of this years festival.  This was my first time EVER at Bumbershoot and my second time in Seattle ever/to cover a festival. The festivities are over until next year, but the memories will last with those who were in attendance a forever. This festival really doesn't have to do much to stand out. It literally has a pinpoint that you can see from just about anywhere in the city of Seattle. I'm of course talking about the one and only iconic Space Needle. You could walk and or use public transport to this festival easily without directions if you truly wanted to do so. The fact an iconic landmark is in the background of every outdoor stage is incredibly impressive as well to say the least. This year the Bumbershoot lineup also proved to be beyond hard-hitting. Stages were graced by local heros and local national headliners alike. I was captivated from the moment I began my drive to Seattle from Denver, Colorado. You see, I left straight from Red Rocks Amphitheater around 11 p.m. after covering The Trailer Park Boys. I had to plan this trip with absolute precision if I was going to make it to Seattle in time to allow a few hours of sleep before the festival began to ensure I was properly rested. Motivation was with me in more than 1 way on this particular trip. This meant little to no stops while staying awake on a drive which would total in over 2,400+ miles...  so, was it worth it?

Let's find out...

So there you have it! This trip was obviously beyond worth making the drive out and back from Colorado to Washington. I met new friends for life and business contacts alike. One of the most notable moments of this trip would for sure be when I randomly ended up meeting Big Sean unplanned. I took a polaroid during Big Sean’s set and his manager noticed. He invited me back into the photo pit during the show to shoot photos with Thomas Falcone (Big Sean's personal touring photographer) after the photographers had to clear out after the first 3 allotted songs we were allowed to photograph. It was a very humbling moment and it reminded me why I do what I do. Why I make the moves I make. Why I make effort to stand out by being myself and constantly work while staying motivated. This is how and why I then ended up meeting Mark Foster and then Foster The People to follow when I was backstage after meeting Sean. Bumbershoot is truly something of another nature; another level. This festival provides you with so many options of music, art, food, vendors, and such an all-around good time that you will have trouble deciding how to spend your time all 3 days from start to finish. With such a large attendance, You may have to make sacrifices of who you end up seeing and not seeing. This festival for sure requires proper planning to a certain degree if you're hoping to have a great and well thought out time, but you could truly just buy a ticket last minute and  have the best day of your life unplanned. That's what I love about this festival. Planned or unplanned, you can truly find yourself at this festival in more then one way.

In the heart of Downtown Seattle with The Space Needle hovering over you, you can find festival salvation. You can find Bumbershoot.

Thank you for having me, I truly appreciate it and hope to be in attendance covering next year and every year to come!
